Pantoprazole injection
Pantoprazole injection is a medication used to treat certain conditions related to excessive stomach acid production.
Mechanism of Action: Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) medication. It works by irreversibly blocking the enzyme system known as the hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase (H+/K+ ATPase) pump in the stomach’s cells. This pump is responsible for producing gastric acid. By inhibiting this pump, pantoprazole reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
Indications: Pantoprazole injection is used to treat conditions such as:
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Erosive esophagitis
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
Conditions where there is excessive production of stomach acid
