Glimepiride & Metformin Tablet

Glimepiride and Metformin are two medications often used together in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Here’s some information about each medication and their combination:

Glimepiride:

Glimepiride belongs to a class of medications called sulfonylureas. It works by stimulating the pancreas to produce more insulin and by increasing the sensitivity of muscle cells to insulin, thereby helping to lower blood sugar levels.
Glimepiride is usually taken orally once daily with breakfast or the first main meal of the day.
Metformin:

Metformin is a medication classified as a biguanide. It works by decreasing the amount of glucose produced by the liver and improving the body’s response to insulin, thus lowering blood sugar levels.
Metformin is typically taken orally with meals, usually one to three times daily depending on the formulation and dosage prescribed.
