Cefixime is an antibiotic medication belonging to the class of cephalosporins.

Mechanism of Action: Cefixime works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It does this by binding to specific proteins called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) that are essential for the formation of the bacterial cell wall.
